Sopron Museumsquartier

The client

The Museumsquartier on Sopron's Main Square was created by combining four iconic historic buildings: the Storno House, the General's House, the Fabricius House and the Firetower. The Museumsquartier features 10 permanent exhibitions that present the history of Sopron from prehistoric times to the present day. In addition to the exhibitions, there are interactive spaces, a café, a shop and outdoor games.

The task

The Museum of Sopron approached us to create an online presence for their latest development, the Museumsquartier, in a way that would fit in with their existing identity and exhibition space.

Our solution

We started the project by thoroughly assessing and researching the existing identity. Based on our conclusions and experience, we developed an optimal structure and content strategy. We tested the functionality using wireframe prototypes.

In developing the graphic design, we creatively complemented and enhanced the existing identity. The icon set of the site was inspired by the logos of exhibitions and signposts. The original colour palette was complemented to suit the needs of the online presence.
